You belong with your head in the clouds
Far away from the hustle and headaches
No worries or cares beyond the next adventure
You’re the one with the grandest visions
It seems a shame to let that lie
Follow your heart, find your dreams
Embrace that part of you
Let it flourish in the sun
Don’t wither away locked out of sight
That’s what makes you special
Keep looking at those possibilities
And do what it takes to make them happen
Don’t settle for anything less
Than the freedom to be you
To chase that light on the horizon
To follow your fantasies through to the end

Find me in dystopia
Lift me up above the madness
Release me as I would you
Let me hold you through this storm
That it may pass safely
The danger is no match for love
Pure and moving feeling
That can force away the pressure
Of the dark and uncertainty
Let us embrace what we can find
In each other’s arms
In each other’s hearts
In each other’s souls
Join me in life
That we may become something greater
Than this world would ever let us alone
We could bring greatness
If we only find each other
Free ourselves from these chains
Together
We may be free

Here’s to the night
And the peace it brings
The stars a blanket
Holding in the chaos
The quiet symphony
Of the dark and restful
The end of another day
Moments of reflection
And respite for the weary
A beauty not many
Will truly understand
But everyone needs
Especially now
In trying times
Find yourself
In the oncoming lateness
So you may face the days
But do not hurry
The nocturnal embrace

Poor little fool
So frustrated, all alone
No one left to turn to
You did this to yourself, you know
You always make the wrong moves
A lifetime of faulty choices
And borderline obsession
You sad, broken man
Not sure anything can fix you
No one but you yourself can patch those holes
Others may have put them there
With sharpened words and metaphorical knives
But you put yourself in the line of fire
Every damn time
You set yourself up to fail
And act surprised when it all crumbles
Someday maybe you’ll learn
Just what it is you’re doing wrong
That ruins every good thing you’ve got
But I wouldn’t bet on it
You’ll screw it up again
And again and again
Over and over
The answer is just not to try
For trying leads to failing
And trusting leads to betrayal
And opening your mouth
Means words that won’t be understood
So give up, let go, move on
Before the next collapse
It may just be the one that ends you

If by some fluke
You’re actually reading this
Don’t come back
If you don’t need to
I don’t care
If it means I never see you
Or get to try and fix things
It’s a hell hole out here
And you deserve so much more
Don’t put yourself through
The stress and anxiety
The chaos and uncertainty
Find something else
Something more fulfilling
Something with meaning
Something that won’t slowly suck the life out of you
Even after everything
I still worry
At least a little bit
And I don’t want to see you
Succumb to the stupidity
That these ignorant people are wielding
Stay home
Stay safe
And maybe in some distant future
I’ll get my chance
But likely not
And that’s something I can live with
If it means you’re better off
